About Us

Wagners Precast Concrete, formerly Dowstress, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Wagner Group of Companies. The Dowstress business has been in operation as a precast and prestressed concrete operation for over forty five years at its current location in Wacol and under current ownership of Wagners for over eleven years.

Our location in Wacol gives easy access to the Ipswich Motorway and connections to other major arterials and access to other Wagner sites regionally.

Wagners Precast Concrete has had extensive experience in manufacture of precast and prestressed concrete elements to exacting specifications for major infrastructure projects around South East Queensland and has supplied precast concrete bridge deck units as far north as Sarina and into south west Queensland. We have also manufactured a range of client specified precast concrete elements including post tensioned water reservoir panels, concrete batch plant bins, dam wall face panels and fish way structures. Our Wacol factory has recently been involved in a number of tunnelling projects with the most recent being the manufacture of tunnel segments for the Grosvenor Coal Mine project in Moranbah for Anglo America through Redpath (Australia) Pty Ltd.

Wagners Precast Concrete / Dowstress, as part of the Wagner Group of Companies have access to all aspects of the Wagner Group to provide a service to our customers. This includes use of the Wagner facilities, supply of Wagner Cement and provision of technical services from Wagners NATA Accredited Laboratories. We source reinforcing steel (supply cut and bend) from Wagner ACRS certified reinforcing business located in Toowoomba. We also have access to mould fabrication and other boiler making services from the Wagner Workshops in Toowoomba. We also have access to Wagner Transport who have a range of vehicles from flat bed and drop deck trailers to heavy floats.

Accreditation's

Wagners Precast operates a quality management system which complies with the requirements of ISO9001:2008 and are third party accredited.

We are certified by Queensland Main Roads for MRTS 72 (Precast) & 73 (Prestress) and have approved mix designs to MRTS 70 (Concrete).

Our on-site laboratory is NATA Accredited to ISO 17025 which allows us to undertake on-site quality control sampling and testing on our products.
