Our first CFT bridge installation in the UK leads to a second order the same day - Dec 19 2018

Beaver Bridges in conjunction with Wagners installed its first composite fibre bridge in the UK last Friday.

The 15m x 2m bridge designed for equestrian use with over-height handrails and special kick boards had a unique design element in that it had to be light weight – under 5 tonnes but still had to carry a 5kPa design load. Wagners designed the bridge to come in well under that weight but still retained all the loading requirements set out by our client, Thurrock Council.

Installed in Mar Dyke, Greys, London, close to the mouth of the Thames and assembled in Beaver Bridges Shrewsbury’s shed. Beaver Bridges, using their own assembly crew and supported on site by Ty Palmer who travelled all the way from Wagners CFT in Toowoomba, ripped through the assembly in no time and last Friday saw the culmination of excellent coordination between the Beaver Bridges crew, Beaver Bridges transport, Council highways engineers and their engineering support group.

The whole project was ably led by Matthew Hillier and overseen by owner of Beaver Bridges, Henry Beaver, Wagners UK man on the ground, Stuart Campbell, and supported by CFT Product Engineer, Lachlan Nicol in Toowoomba.

On the same day as installation Beaver Bridges ordered another bridge from Wagners, this time for the Isle of Wight.
